HISTORY

CCHC was founded in December 1997 following a year-long planning process as part of the Kellogg Foundation with “Turning Point: Collaborating for a New Century in Public Health” initiative and evolved from the Maternal Child Health Council established in 1993

MISSION

The Chaves County Health Council aspires to become a viable alliance to strengthen and engage our community in creating opportunities for positive action that addresses the disparities specific to Chaves County.

VISION

The CCHC believes that everyone has the right to live in a community where they feel safe, included, valued, and
accepted. CCHC promotes healthy living and activities for
all area residents

WHAT WE DO

  • Supporting Veterans through various community outreach programs.

  • Educating Adolescents about life choices by sponsoring the Maze of Life.

  • Host the annual Chaves County Health Expo.

  • Support and sponsor the monthly Roadrunner food bank.

  • Operate the Chaves County 211 Information Line.

  • Support the NM Addiction Education Network.

  • We also sponsor local agencies that address issues like homelessness, health, safety, food, clothing, access to care, and other issues native to Chaves County residents.
