ABOUT THE HEALTH COUNCIL
Working Together for a Healthier Chaves County.
The Chaves County Health Council is a community-based organization that brings residents, service providers, businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, and other partners together around the health and well-being of Chaves County.
The Health Council serves as a place for community members and organizations to identify needs, share information, coordinate efforts, and work together on priorities that affect local health and quality of life.
A Community Table
The Health Council is built around participation from people and organizations across Chaves County. Members bring different experiences, perspectives, resources, and areas of expertise to the same table.

Residents bring lived experience, local knowledge, ideas, and perspectives about the needs and strengths of Chaves County communities.
Nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, businesses, government agencies, faith communities, service organizations, and other partners contribute expertise, resources, and connections.
Health Council members help identify priorities, participate in planning, share information, build partnerships, and contribute to collaborative community work.

The Board of Directors provides governance, oversight, and organizational leadership for the Chaves County Health Council while supporting the Health Council’s community-driven mission and work.

Staff and Program Coordination
Day-to-day operations of the Chaves County Health Council are carried out by the Executive Director, with support from program coordinators and contractors who help implement specific initiatives. Together, they manage grants, coordinate programs and events, support committees and partnerships, track required reporting, and help move Health Council priorities from planning into action.
