My Story
Jennifer Smith is the Vice-Chairperson for the Chaves County Health Council. She has been a member of the Health Council since 2016 and became the part time coordinator for the Health Council in 2018 until 2021 at which point she transitioned to the board of the Health Council.
Jennifer is also the co-founder of the Tessa Anderson Suicide Prevention Coalition and has been a part of that organization since it’s founding in 2014. The Tessa Anderson Suicide Prevention Coalition works to educate on suicide prevention, help those who lose loved ones to suicide and provide community events teaching about suicide prevention and ending the stigma surrounding mental health.
She is the Executive Assistant/Data Manager for the Family Resource Center, a project of Chaves County CASA. Jennifer is married and a mother to 5 children and grandmother to 2 grandchildren. She is dedicated to making this community a great place for her family to live and lives to be the change she wants to see in the world.
